No Re-Dispatch to Afghanistan: Koreans' Peace Action on Nov. 14

No Re-Dispatch of the South Korean Soldiers to Afghanistan!
No United States-South Korea War Alliance!



Pan-Korean Civil Society Organizations’ Solidarity Meeting
against the Re-Dispatch to Afghanistan (* unofficial translations),
composed of 65 civil organizations including the progressive parties and Veterans for Peace, Korea
had a rally of ‘Nov. 14, Peace Action Day’ at the Seoul Station Square at on Nov. 14, 2009.
Despite the coldest weather this year, about 500 people kept the place.


The ‘Pan-Korean Civil Society Organizations’ Solidarity Meeting against the Re-Dispatch to Afghanistan’
was made on the base of the ‘The Solidarity for Anti-War and Peace (tentative title)’.
The latter has been created on May 21, 2009 and has opposed against
:The war & occupation for the powerful countries’ domination
: Support for the war and occupation by the South Korean government (Lee Myung Bak regime).
And it has promoted for peace in the Korean peninsula.

Despite the coldest weather this year, about 500 people kept the place.

The council will have a “Anti-War and Peace Candle Culture Event for the Stop of the Occupation in Afghanistan and against the Re-Dispatch of the South Korean Soldiers to Afghanistan” at 7:30pm on Nov. 18th. The press interview will be held at 11am, in front of the U.S. embassy on the same day. It would be the ‘Press interview by the Obama visit to Korea, for stop the occupation of Afghanistan, against the re-dispatch of the South Korean soldiers to Afghanistan and against the U.S.-S.K. war alliance’

The council told that there would be a protest in the center of city, if the agenda for the agreement with the re-dispatch to Afghanistan were submitted to the National Assembly.
