A student is speaking against the South Korean re-dispatch to Afghanistan.
By clicking the photo for the larger view, one can see the flag of the Stars and Stripes, in front of the United States embassy bldg. ( a white bldg., second from the right). The embassy having long-time imposed its existence in the heart of Seoul, has been the symbol of the U.S. imperialism onto the Korean people.

A reverend from Busan, a harbor city of the southern eastern tip reads the day’s statement.
Busan is where the U. S. arms are first being entered by ships, before their distribution throughout the
USFK bases in South Korea. It is the city where the George Washington, the nuclear aircraft carrier,
home-ported at the city of Yokohama, visits for the regular R.O.K.-U.S. military exercises.

After the rally, some activists joined the press interview by the organization,
Solidarity for the Practice of the South-North Joint Declaration, which denounced the Unification Minister,
Yoon, In Taek, for the oppression of the organization with his right wing policies and denial of the spirits of
the June 15th and October 4th joint statements by the S.K.-N.K. Summit meetings in 2000 and 2007 each.
The press interview was held in front of the building of the Foreign Affairs and Trade Department.
The people demanded the resigning of Yoon In-Taek from the post of the Unification Minister.

Some right wing people attempted to harass the people in the press interview. Police were eager to block them
from the site of the press interview, for the fear of violence by them against the latter.
The issue of the violence by the right wing people has been heightened since the launch of
the Lee Myung Bak government, as they have been heavily supported by it.

Mr. Kwon, Oh-Hun, an Honorary Chairman of the Sponsor Committee for the Conscientious Prisoners
is holding the image of Yoon In Taek, the current resigning-demanded Unification minister, in protest.
Mr. Kwon is a life-long contributor to make people aware of the issue of the long time prisoners
(South Korea has a world-record of jailing a man for 45 years,
under the charge of the vicious National Security Law).

Thirteen organizations including the Solidarity for Peace And Reunification of Korea(SPARK), Pan-Korean Alliance for Reunification (PKAR), South Korean branch, Veterans for Peace (ROK), Sponsor Committee for the Conscientious Prisoners, Mingahyup ( *Association of the Families for the Democracy Practice), Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, Village People’s Committee against the Expansion of the Mugeonri Military Training Field etc. had the 123rd Anti-US Imperialism monthly rally in front of the United States embassy, in the center of Seoul at 12pm, Dec. 15, 2009
