It is predicted that the naval base construction issue will be the important matter in the Jeju Island Governor Election on coming June 2.

The KBS Jeju Broadcast Station, requesting to Mirae Research Center, a specialized poll institute, has conducted the poll on 1,000 Jeju Island people of more than 19years old by the way of phone call during last two days of 6~7. The [margin of ] the sampling error of the poll survey is 95% while in the degree of the trust degree is ±3.1% point.

As a result of the poll, 35.9% of the respondents chose the naval base matter as the main issue.

Specially, more than 40 % of people in the Seoqwipo eup (town)/ myun (township), men voters, 30~40 ages old, government officers, self-business men, and university students chose the issue.

As the naval base issue has become largely the tip point, the tendency that other issues gotten relatively weaken has even appeared.

Other issues were: Profit-making hospital (11.8%), new airport construction (11.4%), Halla Mt. cable car(8.7%), tourist Casino (5.7%) and city-county reviving(3.9 %).

Relatively women, blue color and the young people had much concern with the issue of profit-making hospital.

The elders and the 1st industry workers showed the interest in Halla cable car while the residents of the eastern area of the Seogwipo, in city-county reviving (3.9 %).
