[Jeju Update] Video Fwd: Life & Peace Village, Il-Gangjeong is Alive

*Artist Kim Min-Soo, in the Gangjeong village, Jeju Island, made the below video of total five parts (30min., 2010). The video includes the scenes of the Gangjeong villagers’ three year struggle such as the villagers’ own vote against the naval base (94%) on Aug. 20, 2007, two years’ peace pilgrim march throughout the Jeju Island, villagers’ recalling movement against the former Island Governor, peace festival etc. With the beautiful scenes of Gangjeong, it talks about villagers’ hope, frustration, anger and courage during the struggle. It was shown during the delegates' visit to Jeju on June 17, upon the No Bases Learning and Solidarity Program (June 14 to 20, 2010) and Jeju-living internationals' visit to Gangjeong on June 26, 2010.

It is Korean but the English subtitle made video will come in time. Some of you may glance what the villagers want to talk to the world, through the scenes.
